Thankful Thursday

What a beautiful day it is here in Louisiana and here in my digital world.  The sun is shining in both places.  I just finished making some cards to send to friends who are under the weather. Silly me, I forgot to take pics of them before I mailed but I will create one so I can post it.

Stamps - I am looking for some cute stamps for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.  Here in Louisiana, I may not get to see the "snow" we had up north last year but the season is still coming and I want to stamp a few images, color them and make a few cards and invitations.  Nothing says your loved then a "homemade" card.  

Pumpkin Patch - We are going to see the pumpkin patch today and maybe pick out a few for caving and making pumpkin seeds.  While I'm not a big fan of Halloween, the kids here on the base are certainly gearing up for it so I will put my crafting skills into making porch decorations ( pic to follow).

Well I'm off to get a few things done.  A worm ate my hard-drive yesterday so I'm busy rebuilding. Emails were hit the hardest.

Cards.. Stamps, etc.

It's a Crafty Saturday for me... The holidays are coming and I wanted to do something "new".
I tried my hand at creating a couple of cards over at SOC. Circle of Life Scraps, New Beginnings

Good morning, I have completed my layout for a fabulous designer at Missesbeehaven.com, Circle of Life Scraps.  I chose her kit, New Beginnings in honor of my new Shihz Tsu, Bella.  The kits is full of wonderful elements and papers to compliment any photo.  Check her out and tell her I sent you.

Time out.. New Stamps, New Cricut, Lots of Ideas..

I don't have many followers on this blog but the few that stop may want to know what's been going on since my last posting.  We have overcome a few family issues for which I am grateful.  My youngest son had his 26th birthday... I got a cricut machine (Expressions)  and I'm learning how to use it.  I am a digital scrapbooker however I have found that using the digital papers and elements can be cut out and used in hybrid projects.  I'm new at this and my mind is whirling around thinking of all the things that may be possible.  I am still recovering from back surgery and now that arthritis has set in.. it makes my mornings very long when I have to get up and move around... so I'm looking for a more holistic way to treat this inflammation.  If anyone stops by and you have a suggestion, please share.  Well i'm off to see what I can find in the way of learning more about my cricut.  Check back often... I may have a card or two to share.

A long road back..

Hello friends.. as some of you know, I have been away from scrapbooking for a few weeks due to a family crisis.  It was a difficult time for our family losing a loved one and one so young.  We have gathered ourselves and gotten through the tough time and we are all healing from this. I want to thank all of you for your cards and condolences.  They were indeed appreciated.

Great Receipe's

With any weight loss regiment you need a good diet. High fiber and whole grains are good for me.  As a past chef (eyons ago) I learned how to prepare delicious meals that anyone will eat which are low calorie and full of flavor.  I will post a few receipe's that my family uses as well as links to other sites and I would love to have you share your receipe's as well.  Look for my first receipe in September.  ~Qadirah~

Our family wishes to thank all those who have expressed their condolences, kind words and comfort to my family over these last few days.  We appreciate you all so very much. I will be away from my blog until the end of August 2010.
